Following Liverpool’s poor defensive performance against Burnley this weekend, Jurgen Klopp has hired Reginald McGrath, a former Merseytravel bus driver to help in training.

Speaking to Klopp in relation to the new appointment :

Yeah, we are really excited about Reg joining us in Melwood….in this moment. We have always had a problem breaking down teams who, as you say ‘park the bus’, and we need to learn how to do it ourselves…..in this moment.

Speaking to Reginald about his plans for training :

Well we’re starting them off with a minibus to see how they get on. If they do okay with that then we might move on to a standard bus, if not we might move down to something like a smart car or a moped. We have a bike with stabilizers for anyone really struggling.

Asked how players are responding :

Well, your man Ragnar and Dijon are doing alright. Maybe a bit on the slow side and they tend to leave the arse of the bus hanging over the line but slow and steady. We can’t let Sakho near one in case he’s been at the diet pills again. Nath keeps tearing to the edge of the box no problem but then he parks up and starts giving out freebies to anyone passing. Milly drives like your Granny.

Al? God help us! It’s all accelerating up the pitch like a lunatic, jamming on the breaks, reversing like Miley Cryus with a dose of bum scratch and then tries to handbrake it into the spot. He nearly took out Milner the other day and he wasn’t even on the pitch. He was at home having a cup of chamomile and Al drives in through the sitting room, claims he got turned around on the pitch. It’s nearly a blessing about the accident.

An unfortunate training ground incident on Sunday saw Alberto Moreno run over by one of the double-deckers held in reserve for advanced training. Unconfirmed reports suggest that the bus, which knocked Moreno down and then reversed over him a number of times was driven by Valencia head coach, Jamie Carragher. Moreno is said to be in a stable condition and hopes to return to training within a month. Liverpool are understood to be negotiating a deterioration in Moreno’s condition with his doctors from stable to the incurable “David Luiz Syndrome”.
